A theory called "GOD"

Well how often do we come across this question "Do you believe in god?" and most of the times person asking the question is either a strong believer in the existence of god or he is not. If you believe even partly in what he thinks it is good for you otherwise well the argument becomes so violent at times that only "GOD" can save you.

Most of you will be aware about the constant cold war going between religion and science. Now all of you must have come across this argument more than once that well " if u don't think the god exists then who created this universe? " and the argument does not have any replies since science can answer you what happened at time t = 1 sec but will be unable to say what exactly happened at time t = 0 sec, the day science finds an answer what exactly did happen time t = 0 sec and how this universe was created then religion won't have any unanswered questions I guess. Now how do you visualise god to be? the so called creator of this universe, hmmm lets try...a huge tall man with a long white beard, an unlasting kindness in his eyes, juggling 3-4 galaxies at a time. Over the years, every religion be it hindu, muslim or any other have described god in one or the other ways. It's different forms and the kindness the god posseses and so on.

Now if we think muslim religion also permits a guy to marry four women. Now according to hindu religion it is a sin. The reason ( as far as i know ) that muslim religion allowed a man to marry four women is that the time religion was formed sex ratio of man to woman was 1:4. So that was the primary reason of having such a law. So is it not possible to heal the wounds which were not healed by humans themselves or thought they can not be healed, those very humans were conditioned to believe in some super power by the learned men of those times?? or was it just a temporary answer to all unanswered questions of those times?? . Now I really don't know the answer and personally I believe everyone defines his or her own god.

For me well god is a faith which we believe in, a faith, a hope to see a better tomorrow, a reason to make people smile even in their toughest times. An energy which people find from the deepest corners of their minds and hearts in their worst times. God is that neverlasting reservoir of hope, faith, energy which is in every single human being that has ever stepped on this planet earth. I guess no one can question the authority of "this" god.

Now I don't know what will happen if some day science does discover what exactly happened at time t =0 sec. Hence proves that well guys there was no white bearded man after all. Still I am sure of the fact that my GOD won't die.

Yeah dude, I agree. God is the result of the need to believe in some higher being, an attempt to add some sort of meaning, of purpose to life...

Personally, I like the way God looks in Southpark... A short, fat hippopotamus with wings and pink horns :P

god ... i, dont know .. u see im agnostic ... there are things which are beyond human conception yet the concept of god seems to be a myth....i find it necessary to believe in god when i lose faith in myself yet most of the tym i ridicule in its existence .... so i guess god is more of a need ..

Nice post, Tapan...reminds me of a blog post I had not so long back...well, as an atheist..I'll tell you this - any proof presupposes existence and the method of proof constitutes the method of consciousness of that existence...I'll elaborate on campus - 'god' is a topic that has sustained various conversations of mine in anc over 3 years - I should be very interested in continuing it well into my grand old year too...
